The London School of Burlesque

A Burlesque Industry School in Annapolis, Maryland

Our Story

You don't need to take a class, or a class series, to perform burlesque and variety.

There's no degree requirement. There's no internship, or apprenticeship.

So why start a burlesque school?

Burlesque is a performance style available to everyone, and performers don't need to forge ahead alone. It can be stressful sending in your first application, or getting decent video for your audition. Professional photographers charge what they're worth, but sometimes professional promo shots are out of reach.

But mostly because it seems like there are lots of dance and choreography classes, but far fewer industry classes that break it all down. So that's what we're doing at The London School of Burlesque: helping people develop the whole package.

Lecturer

Bearcat Betty is a variety entertainer specializing in burlesque and sideshow. Based in Maryland, her wit and charm permeate the East coast. Over the years, she has graced many stages and sticky floors with her talents and will travel to you for monetization of your adoration. She is an award winning performance artist with a range that spans comedy to classy, dramatic to dangerous, weird to wonderful, and some nonsense in between. She enjoys making costumes, and finally finishing the costumes she was making. She hopes to extract your laughter, tears, exclamations, and maybe some sweat. Among her lifetime achievements include declarations of “I’ve never seen that before” and “I still think about that thing you did.”

Coco Gateaux (she/her)

Lecturer

Your Favorite Cake’s Favorite Cake is DC’s Cat’s Meow. Coco simmers onstage, but she shines brightest as a Stage Kitten. Careful, conscientious, and cheerful she makes producers and performers alike feel at ease, enhancing the audience experience. Quiet as a cat, this stage kitten is absolutely unforgettable as she drapes, capes, and collects for many performers. Coco is a recurring kitten for Eva’s Menagerie, Schism DC, Drag The Roof Down Brunch, PrettyBoi Drag’s Open King Night, and is resident kitten for Elle Dorado’s Sunday Service, with plans to take her kittening to the national stage at Teaser Festival.

Delilah for TW Faculty.jpg

Delilah Dentata (she/her)

Lecturer

Delilah Dentata is a burlesque and variety performer, host, and producer based in Washington, DC.

A self-proclaimed icon (it’s called manifesting, sweaty), Delilah has brought her brand of “what even IS this” to shows across the United States, most recently at the 2026 Nauti Burlesque Festival, the Gem State Burlesque Festival's competition, and at Burlesque-N-Beyond Philly. Closer to home, she is a company member with Astro Pop Events, fighting (and stripping) annually in Elvis’ Birthday Fight Club. She’s also performed at Otakon, Super Art Fight, Dr. Sketchy’s, and Naked Girls Reading, among others, and has previously won the Burlypicks Northeast Regional “Master of Amazement” award two years in a row.

When she’s not gallivanting about the stage, she’s sharing her love of burlesque and variety as a co-producer of several shows, including DMVariety’s “Yolks on You” brunch and Blue Note Burlesque series at Sid Gold’s Request Room. She also is one-half of production duo Beaver and Buttstuff, with productions like their “NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL BURLESQUE” Y2K tribute shows, the Bra & Order fundraisers, and (T)It’s Academic!, which, despite all odds, somehow manages to be educational. And because Delilah hates sleep, she is also one-third of Pink Wednesday Productions.

EllieQuinn_KristanRVAPhoto - Ellie Quinn.jpeg

Ellie Quinn (she/her)

Lecturer

Ellie Quinn, The Duchess of Dork, is a Richmond, VA-based burlesque performer, producer, and professional fangirl. Known for award-winning comedic nerdlesque, campy concepts, and a healthy devotion to the ridiculous, Ellie has taken her pop-culture-fueled performances to stages and festivals across the U.S. and abroad. A co-creator of the RVA Burlesque Festival, she brings equal parts glamour, comedy, and geeky enthusiasm to every performance. If there’s a beloved character, questionable costume, or deeply unnecessary pop-culture reference to turn into burlesque, Ellie is probably already planning the act.
